When i first saw this pen i find it amusing to have it so long measuring 15cm, later i was told that this pen was actually made for workers in the shipyard where they need to use a longer pen (workers were wearing gloves then and a small pen would not be easy to write). Further when they suck ink from bottles, they do not have any tissues with them to wipe it off (paper were very rare and expensive during the cultural revolution, where food are rationed), so they incorporate a sponge at the end of the barrel to wipe off the ink from the pen nib.
This pen is made of hard rubber and gold plated medium. The rubber suction pump still works very well.It has been stored for more than 25 years and yes nostalgic of the era. I believe it is no longer available even at antique shop. Get it now
